Taros Capital's investments are in niche market leaders with a defensible market position. Taros does not have a specific sector preference. The team typically avoids investments in biotech/high-tech companies, distressed situations, or sectors that are highly capital intensive, highly cyclical or encumbered with major regulatory risks.
Taros focuses on value creation through a number of scenarios:
- International expansion.
- Refocusing and optimizing business portfolios through acquisitions and divestitures.
- Optimizing of operations.
- Financial/tax structuring enhancements.
- Strengthening of management teams.
- Managing succession issues
Although Taros typically looks for investments with clear exit potential, its investment period is not fixed. Historically, Taros has held investments for on average between 4 and 7 years. Taros typically determines the exit timing jointly with management, taking into account the shared vision for the company.
